A whole lot of progress, and another new start

It’s been another week of good progress and not just for one project! Oh no, I’ve started working on another Maynia project, and started a new one as well!

First, The Lady of the Lake. I’ve done a fair bit on her, but I could use your guys’ opinions. See the beading in the photo below? I’m thinking it doesn’t really go well with the stitching, and that it should be taken out. What do you think? Leave your comment to let me know!

Second, the Maynia project. I’ve started up on Carl again. It’s a super simple stitch so far, with only 4 colours, and no confetti. This is a day and a half’s work:

Finally, Firefly fairies! Stitched on 32 count Lugana in Exotic Orchid, I bleached the starburst according to the directions in the pattern and I’m almost half way through the middle row:

I also have some good news for anyone who likes my hand-dyed fabric. I’ve just been able to purchase 12 yards of white Aida, which I will be dying and putting up in my etsy shop for anyone who wants it!

Lastly, I give you a picture of Crookshanks making a funny face:

That’s all for now. Until next time, Happy Stitching!

A new finish (kind of) and a brand new start

I (kind of) have a finish! I stitched all of Stitch. Pikachu is supposed to be next to him, but I’ve found I really don’t want to stitch that part lol. So now it’s just my favorite blue alien doing a handstand on his own.

That brings my number of finished projects this year up to 22!!!!!!!!

I then decided I needed a new project. Tash the Star crossed Stitcher sent an extra skein of thread in that package she sent with the Firefly Fairies pattern (there’s some gold for the fairies’ hair)

At first I didn’t know what to use it for, but then I decided to design my own pattern for The Lady of the Lake from Arthurian legend:

With that bit of Cottage Garden Threads as what shows up as a dark olive green in the picture, and this is what I have so far:

I love how it blends into the fabric a little from a distance, making it look even more like her dress becomes the water around her.

Lastly, a two for one cat picture!

That’s all for now. Until next time, Happy Stitching!

A new start with a finish, and some Maynia progress

I stitched up one of my own designs! The pattern is available for purchase in my etsy shop, and I just love it:

I’ve also worked on a Maynia project. This one is Stitch and Pikachu standing on their heads. So far, I’ve only worked on Stitch, but it’s coming along well:

That’s all I have for stitching, so here’s two cat pictures!

In other awesome news…. I won Tash The Starcrossed Stitcher’s giveaway for the Firefly Fairies pattern! I’ll get a picture once I have all the supplies to start it. I’m so excited!

That’s all for now. Until next time, Happy Stitching!

Did that really just happen?

Did I really finish two projects yesterday?! Yes. Yes I did. Granted, one of them was really small, but still.

I finished the Pika Pile I started during Maynia (pattern from Sprite Stitch)

I also finished a small heart with initials on it that my boyfriend helped me stitch. It was kind of adorable seeing him trying to work on this, because he’s 6’6″ with hands twice the size of mine, stitching with a small needle on 14 count plastic canvas lol

I also did a small painting on some linen. It was part of an old kit I found at a thrift store. I think it’s okay, but with the subject matter I saw available, I probably won’t do too much of this kind of thing:

That’s it for cross stitching. I’m trying to expand my etsy store to include more hand dyed fabrics so I’ve added a third piece, this time in the ‘Swamp Monster’ colorway (greens and purples) and will add more as soon as I can buy more fabric to dye. There’s no cat picture this week, since they’re being so difficult to photograph lately, but I’ll try to get a couple good ones soon.

That’s all for now. So until next time, Happy Stitching!

Finally some new stuff!

I finished two things! Okay, so one of them is tiny, and the other is knitted, but still….

I started and finished a knitting project: a red and green Christmas stocking! (patterns from Drops Designs)

Just yesterday I made an itty bitty bat. It’s smaller than my thumb, and adorable (pattern from Donna Kooler’s 555 Christmas Cross-Stitch Designs):

I did make a tiny amount of progress on Draculaura:

But after the knitting, and the bat, I mostly just worked on the Pikachus:

Also, here’s a picture of Crookshanks, because who can resist that face?

I’ve also put up to pieces of my hand dyed Aida for sale in my shop if you want to take a look.

That’s all for now, so until next time, Happy Stitching!
